Aloe Vera Resin - Internally, Aloe Vera Resin is of even greater value as it absorbs and promotes the growth of friendly bacteria and purgative qualities. Aloe Vera Resin is the best cleanser available. Some of the conditions that Aloe taken internally is useful for include allergies, AIDS, colitis, body odors, improved digestion, flu, heartburn, indigestion, hemorrhoids, pain, pin worms and ringworm. Chamomile - have been used since Ancient times for their calming and anti-inflammatory properties. Chamomile is an age-old medicinal herb known in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. Chamomile's popularity grew throughout the Middle Ages when people turned to it as a remedy for numerous medical complaints including asthma, colic, fevers, inflammations, nausea, nervous complaints, children's ailments, skin diseases and cancer. The bitter principles in chamomile make it an excellent tonic for the liver and digestive system. The bittersweet flavor stimulate the gastric juices, and help to settle the stomach. Chamomile teas can be used as part of a treatment program for irritable bowel syndrome because of its antispasmodic properties. Chamomile tea is approved for use by the Commission E for gastrointestinal spasms and inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Chamomile's anti-inflammatory actions soothe inflammation throughout the digestive tract. Cascara Sagrada - For anybody that suffers from constipation, cascara sagrada can offer some genuine, natural relief. It is effective against a range of bacteria including Helicobacter pylori, E coli, and several strains of Staphylococcus aureus. It has also demonstrated anti-fungal action against Candida. Cascara sagrada is among a huge collection of herbs that have been investigated for their potential applications in cancer treatment and management. Studies show that both cancer cell death and anti-tumor potential under laboratory conditions. Cascara sagrada has also demonstrated the potential to improve emotional well-being, anxiety and other conditions related to the nervous system. Chaparral - a powerful healing herb that grows in the desert regions of the American Southwest used a natural cancer treatment. Chaparral is also a powerful anti-bacterial and anti-viral medicine. Chaparral has strong antifungal and antimicrobial properties and is a treatment frequently utilized to kill parasites that are living in our bodies. Chaparral contains an ingredient called nor-dihihydroguairetic (NDGA), a potent antitumor agent. NDGA inhibits aerobic and anaerobic glycolysis (the energy-producing ability) of cancer cells. The flavonoids present in chaparral have strong antiviral and antifungal properties. With this in mind, it seems like a good idea to take these herbs after consuming a Big Mac and french fries in order to offset some of the damage all of those free radicals you've ingested are capable of doing. Certainly chaparral wouldn't be a good herb to take if you has a diseased liver. Nor would it be advisable to take chaparral with alcohol or acetaminophen. The chaparral (Larrea tridentata) that grows over hundreds of square miles in Arizona and California contains a powerful antioxidant called NDGA (nordihydroguaiaretic acid). NDGA was used to prevent oxidation from spoiling foods during World War II. It appears to work against cancer cells by preventing them from "eating" the blood sugar they need to survive - in other words, it starves them to death. The herb has anti-inflammatory properties and can alleviate conditions, for example, arthritis. It has already been utilized to soothe the itchiness of chicken pox. Mullein - Mullein is regarded beneficial primarily for respiratory ailments, and while its applications are actually much wider than that, it definitely is exceptional in its healing and protection of respiratory disorders and breathing problems. Mullein contains naturally occurring anti-bacterial properties. Mullein's anti-bacterial traits make it useful in treating infections. Uva Ursi - used primarily for urinary tract disorders, including infections of the kidney, bladder, and urethra; swelling (inflammation) of the urinary tract; increased urination; painful urination; and urine that contains excess uric acid or other acids. Fenugreek - one of the oldest cultivated medicinal plants native to southern Europe and Asia. Fenugreek seeds are rich in minerals such as iron, potassium, calcium, selenium, copper, zinc, manganese and magnesium. In the vitamin department, it contains thiamin, folic acid, riboflavin, pyridoxine (vitamin B6), niacin, and vitamins A and C. There are also polysaccharides: saponins, hemicellulose, mucilage, tannin, and pectin, which help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol levels by discouraging bile salts from absorbing into the colon, while at the same time binding to toxins so they can be escorted from the body. The amino acid 4-hydroxy isoleucine in the seeds helps lower rate of glucose absorption in the intestines, which lowers blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes. Fenugreek contains choline, which studies show may not only help slow mental aging, but also calm PMS and symptoms of menopause. Fenugreek is also considered an aphrodisiac, and plenty of studies tout its ability to increase libido in men. Cayenne - Cayenne pepper benefits are numerous and effective; it’s used to help digestion, including heal upset stomach, slow intestinal gas, stop stomach pain, cure diarrhea and as a natural remedy for cramps. It’s also used for conditions of the heart and blood vessels – including to improve poor circulation, reverse excessive blood clotting, lower high cholesterol and prevent heart disease. It's main purpose is to provide detox support. Dandelion - The root is a favorite amongst traditional herbalists as it supports the healthy functioning of the liver, kidneys, spleen, and gallbladder and is considered to be a reliable detoxifying agent. Dandelion is also used for the treatment of the gall bladder, kidney and urinary disorders, gallstones, jaundice, cirrhosis, hypoglycemia, dyspepsia with constipation, edema associated with high blood pressure and heart weakness, chronic joint and skin complaints, gout, eczema and acne. As a tonic, Dandelion strengthens the kidneys. An infusion of the root encourages the steady elimination of toxins from the body. Dandelion is a powerful diuretic but does not deplete the body of potassium. Eucalyptus - Some of the best health benefits of eucalyptus includes its ability to boost respiratory health, strengthen the immune system, protect skin health, ease tension and anxiety, lower blood sugar, eliminate inflammation, and fight against bacterial infection. PRECAUTIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS As is the case with many herbal remedies, the simple fact is to always be cautious. We recommend not to take more than 1 to 2 pills per day up to 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, take 1 per day until you feel your body is healthy again. These herbs will work different for everyone so I cannot tell you exactly how many to take for how long. However, use these herbs with caution as you may need them. There are certain potential side effects that you should be aware of and you must always consult a doctor before taking the herb. There is documented evidence that cascara sagrada is UNSAFE for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. Studies have demonstrated that some herbs have both emmenagogue effects which can stimulate menstruation. It also has abortifacient properties that may stimulate miscarriage. As regards nursing mothers, anthranoid metabolites contained in the herb might get excreted in a mother’s breast milk causing harm to the child. These herbs should not be used on children under the age of 10.
